Early Years news 17th March 2023
As usual its been a busy couple of weeks in Early Years with lots of fun and exciting activities. We haven’t let the rain get us down and have still been enjoying lots of time outside in our garden and the school playground. Here the children are lying down in their den.
For our Art activity we painted pictures of daffodils and in some cases actually painted the daffodil! The children did a fantastic job and made some beautiful pictures!
Continuing with our topic of space the children have been busy learning about constellations and making their own constellation pictures and crowns.
The children had a great time making carrot and coriander soup and were so helpful. They all very carefully helped to cut the carrots. They were then able to enjoy the soup they’d made at snack time. Cooking with the children has so many benefits, it helps them to learn about healthy eating, promotes a sense of independence and helps them to build life skills – also they really enjoy it!
We planted some sunflowers this week. The children had a great time getting messy with the soil and we talked about what plants need to grow. We have placed them in a sunny spot in our garden so we can watch them grow over the next few months and enjoy their sunny flowers in the summer.
See our blog posts for images of our activities.
As always please feel free to get in touch if there is ever anything you want to discuss. Alternatively, we are always happy to have a chat at drop off or pick up.
