Weekly News 10th June 2022
Welcome back, we hope you all had a great half term break. This week we have read the story ‘The Tiny Seed’ by Eric Carle. The children have enjoyed learning about how plants grow. They have pretended to be a seed, curled up tight then sprouted a shoot (raising their arm up) until eventually they stood up tall on tiptoes. We have planted our own seeds, making the choice between a sunflower seed or a pea seed, please help your child to look after these and don’t forget to email some photos. The children have created some wonderful paintings and drawings of plants and flowers. We have looked closely at seeds – through smashing tomatoes with kitchen utensils – this was great fun and the children had a brilliant time! We have also spent time role playing in LSEY’s garden centre – the children have particularly enjoyed using ‘real money’ to buy the flowers and vegetables. We have also enjoyed lots of time outside especially digging in the mud kitchen and sandpit.
