The children have really enjoyed our topic of ‘Under the Sea’ this week. Together we have looked at the different sea creatures found in the sea, we even learnt about some of the creatures that live in the deepest parts of the ocean such as, an Anglerfish, and enjoyed looking up these different creatures on the I-pad.
We have made pipe cleaner octopuses, tissue and crepe paper jelly fish and used shape sponges to print a colourful fish. In our sensory area this week we used shaving foam to create the waves of the ocean and enjoyed hiding all the sea creature in it, the children said “it feels soft, “it feels slimy” “It looks like ice-cream”, “It smells like my daddy”.
In addition to all of this fun we have spent a lot of time outside playing, and also exploring the mud kitchen, the role play kitchen, making marks on the chalkboard and jumping up and down a number line.
