Weekly News 11th March 2022

This week our topic has been The Enormous Turnip. On Monday the Preschool children made Turnip soup using Turnips, Carrots, Parsnips and onions. They demonstrated great skills using the knife safely to chop all the vegetables up. When it was cooked they took it home to eat…yummy.
The children have also planted their own turnip seeds to try and grow at home, hopefully it won’t grow as big as the one in the story, but please do let us know!
The children have also enjoyed taking turns to be the ‘turnip’ for their friends to try and pull up. We have used purple, white and green paint to paint our own turnips and to also explore what happens when we mix colours together.
Pre-school children have continued to develop their movement and balance – this week they transferred a bean bag from one side to the other side while moving along the beams.
