The children have really enjoyed our topic of ‘5 Little Fish’ linked to Rainbow fish. We have had a go at creating movement for all the different creatures that live in the sea. We have made Rainbow biscuits and Rainbow fairy cakes – focusing on where the ingredients we used came from – apart from “the supermarket”!

We even made our own song about the sea creatures, changing the words to ‘Down in the jungle’ to ‘Under the sea…’ which was great fun and demonstrated the children’s knowledge and understanding of this topic.

We have explored shape, using lolly sticks to create different shapes. We have spent time exploring loose parts, thinking about what we could do and make with these with some delightful results… including “dinner, its salad, broccoli and ‘matos”, using the dolly pegs to make an octopus and building structures. We have also enjoyed exploring speed through using ramps with the cars, seeing which one went the fastest.
